Duo Concertant (Balanchine/Stravinsky) George Balanchine believed in "seeing the music" - and in this short two-character ballet, the violinist and pianist play an intergral on-stage role. Don Quixote Pas De Deux (after Petipa/Minkus) This plotless masterpiece pays homage to the spirit and grandeur of imperial St. Petersburg. Balanchine descibed it as "a contemporary tribute to Petipa, the father of classical ballet, and to Tchaikovsky, his greatest composer." World Premiere by Liam Scarlett (Scarlett/TBD) On the heels of last season's dynamic, critically-acclaimed "Viscera", 25-year-old Liam Scarlett - the most successful young choreographer at Britain's Royal Ballet - has been invited back by Edward Villella to create his second work on Miami City Ballet's dancers.
